I've received my Pro and Mini boxes ahead of my switch to EE next week ( hopefully, but that's a different story).
I positioned my boxes and connected them up ( no ariel to the Pro yet), connected my existing WiFi and successfully updated the firmware. But I noticed that the mini box doesn't have the ITVX or Channel4 apps(which are available on the Pro), but does have iPlayer, Ch5, Netflix, Prime, Now TV, Paramount, etc.
Is this correct?
I've trying searching a list of apps that should be installed but with no luck.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Service activities but no change. Did a factory reset and the apps appeared

No, both should be present.
I suspect a software update and/or a power cycle might kick them into life. The first I suspect should happen automatically once initial set up is complete.

Tried both power restart and software update. No change, guess another call to EE is required,

What happens when you search for content that would be on itvX?
Do you get results and if so, what happens when you try to watch something, because it should take you to itvX?

Bizarrely that works. A search for Emmerdale and Honest Box brought up the apps. However the apps are still not shown in the apps menu.

Speculation
Could it to be you doing box mini setup when not on an EE (or BT) broadband line and/or not yet having an active account.

Maybe but the Pro box has them shown and I've set that ups the same way.
Guess I need to wait and see what happens on activation day.

I’m hopeful this is just a bug and they will appear in the apps list shortly, but @zulu17 may be onto something.
Somewhere in the old brain I remember hearing that the mini box has a newer chipset than the pro box, so a couple of the apps (including itvX), can run a much fuller version (including FAST channels), that the pro box cannot.
It would be weird that they wouldn’t appear until connected to the right broadband, but who knows these days!
Not long until you find out. 👍

I can only speculate as I don’t have access to a EE box mini.
I suspect it will clear itself up within a day of the EE services being activated.
Youview will have provided the Home page based upon the known data at time of box setup , so probably no EE data relating to the as yet not activated EETV service , internet address would be old ( still active) isp .
EETV and Youview have or are currently introducing a new home page on the BOx Pro and Box Mini devices. Unclear as to whether @BabyManatee is experiencing the problem with the missing apps on the Box Mini on a new look home page or the previous version and indeed whether the Box Pro that has the expected apps is on on old or new look home page,

Thanks everyone.
I'll report back after the service has been activated.
