Is there a way to link the Remote of the EE Apple TV to be able to Switch my TV on and off without the need to use the TV remote.

@Paul1762

Try the Apple TV Settings (the Apple gear wheel), rather than the EETV settings.

Under Remotes and Devices/HOME CINEMA CONTROL, turn Control TVs and Receivers On.

Under Volume Control, pick from, possibly experiment with, the four top options there. I have Auto set.

Under Onscreen Volume Display, pick your preference, Show or Hide.

My LG GX powers up and down from the Apple remote, short press on Power top right to turn it on, and long press to turn it off; and the +/- button on the remote controls the TV volume.

I didn’t do a thing to set it up - it set itself up - and I had to go and trawl the Settings menus to see what might control these things, before I could try to answer your query 🔎

@Paul1762   It doesn’t always work.  My Apple TV will power up my TV but only if it’s been left in standby mode, if I kill the power to the TV the Apple TV remote will not switch on the TV.    I’ve got 2 Apple TVs and both have this same issue with the TVs they are connected to.     Once it’s all switched on every works as it should via the Remote.

Many thanks for the feedback…

Many thanks… I will try and explore these settings…

@Chris_B

I would only call it an issue if it did power up a TV I’d killed the power to.

While I know that many TVs can remain live even if you power them right off, which is why resetting a Samsung, say, involves pulling the plug, I wouldn’t expect a TV in that state to respond to a remote. That’s what standby is for.
