Intermittent sound while streaming Discoveryplus

Hi, can anyone help with a sound issue. Sound is fine until after an advert while streaming on Discoveryplus. Sound then goes off. I can switch to other channels and sound is fine. Then switch back to Discoveryplus and sound is fine until after the next advert. TIA.

Just come off the phone with Leanne at BT support, don't think it was @Leanne_T as she had never heard of this issue before. Anyway after much restarting, checking network, software version, apps version and such she went off to contact more technical support gurus who told her this was a known issue with the Discovery+ APP that EE couldn't fix but they were working with Discovery+ to find a solution!  I did tell Leanne that like @BeckieBDE I'm sure the sound issue has happened on other APPS (maybe NOWTV) but I wasn't sure. Anyway the advice was to either do what I have been doing (press BACK then OK to resume the programme) or watch Discovery+ on my Fire TV stick!! I will do some tests on NOWTV with the EE Box vs the Stick and keep you all posted.

Thank you for your email. That's exactly what I was told but to no avail.
It's an issue that EE have been aware of for quite some time, I doubt very
much they will sort it out due to a software issue that is down to EE,
other than take this matter to the next level is going to be something of
an ordeal, dealing with it with EE via telephone seems to be rather
helpless. A legal written complaint is probably the only way to get to the
bottom of this issue with everyone on board, sadly I don't think this will
happen.

I'm having the same issue. No sound bar connected and it's only on Discovery plus.. very annoying. Is there any other quick fixes suggested without having to read 5 pages of answers? Many thanks in advance. 

Hi @lunabells, Think you will find there are no quick fixes in the preceeding posts other than when the program restarts with no sound after the ads press BACK then OK to resume where you left off. Alternatively use a Fire Stick or other streaming device/box!!

I’ve got the same issue, box and apps up to date, brand new tv, I’ve still got an old BT box so might try that

Newbe here. Had EE Box a month swapping from bt which i had no problems with.. Samsung tv with soundbar and we lose sound after some ad breaks, but not all, on Discovery plus.

If I rewind 10 seconds and then press play we see the last few seconds of the show before the ad break, then it carries on with sound.

It seems this is an EE problem that they aren't addressing even though it seems to be common.

I don't intend faffing about swapping hdmi leads I'll just wait for a software update to happen.

I'm just joining this forum to add my two-penn'orth.

Just to add my bit..definitely not the bt box or hub or Internet, my Samsung tv has the discovery app and it does the same thing  as soon as the adverts come on the sound goes off. Tried updating everything and still the same just have to go back and restart the channel I was watching. Tried it on all the tvs with the app and all the same so I think it's definitely the app at fault.

Another frustrated user who has noticed this issue since my BT TV service migrated to EE TV (still the original BT box), but not after every set of adverts.

Hitting "back, followed by "resume" restores the sound and then we wait with baited breath for it to happen again!
