Hi, can anyone help with a sound issue. Sound is fine until after an advert while streaming on Discoveryplus. Sound then goes off. I can switch to other channels and sound is fine. Then switch back to Discoveryplus and sound is fine until after the next advert. TIA.

Hi I have the same issue, Discovery plus loose sound after adverts, have to press pause back twice then Okay to restart the program then the sound is back until the next adverts. Box is direct to TV via HDMI, no sound bar, Box is connected to a BT home hub 5 via a LAN cable, box also connected to a terrestrial aerial.
My old set up was via the older BT TV BOX which didn't have this issue.
I've tried all the things suggested and it still does it.
Put the old BT box back and that still works so it must be the new EE box, I am well fed up with it.

Have you found a solution for this? I may be able to help, depending upon your T.v?

Hi, strangely all is good for now. I haven’t done anything different, with a few episodes in the sound has been fine thanks.
Watch this space lol.

Mine is still the same.
Hi Johnny rocket, it's connected to a Samsung QE49Q60RATXXU, up to date software, as is the EE TV box.
The other thing I notice which the old BT TV box never did is with the TV on then turn on the EE box the TV doesn't change you have to switch it off the switch it on again, then this time it changes the TV to show the box picture.

I am going to be honest this is starting to wind me up. With this and and the IPC6023 issue I am not impressed since moving to EE

Morning Dave 859
Go to the back of your t.v and unplug the HDMI cable presumably its plugged in to where all your other cables are in the same area, and look for another HDMi slot more or less in the middle of the t.v plug it in there
It worked fine with mine, good luck 👍

If this solved it for you, then you have a bad HDMI port on your TV, or you had a bad connection to the HDMI port (e.g. plug not pushed fully home), or you had an insufficiently shielded HDMI cable.
And I would have expected the issue to affect anything you tried to watch that was coming down the cable to that port.
Did it?

You should look then, and see which if any of your HDMI ports is HDMI 2.1 and which only 2.0. Also ensure they are all set for enhanced HDMI.
Also, would you like to share the make and model number of this no-fault TV that attaches to a no-fault Box, and yet can’t play Discovery without issue on certain of its no-fault HDMI ports?
As I think potential purchasers of this TV should be warned 😢
