ITV X progress/time bar

I’m watching ITV player on my tv through the EE mini box. The progress bar won’t go from the screen! It’s driving me mad. If you press back it goes back to ITV main page. No other button will get rid of it. I had to fast forward it and it hasn’t gone away.

it happens on any recording on any channel, everyone I know has the same issue

the only way to get rid of it, is to load the Guide, select a channel to watch, then go back to your recording and continue watching, then keep your fingers crossed or don't press FF or RWD again

it's absolutely not a standalone itvx issue, it's one line of code required in the eetv box software to refresh screen after button depress completion

@Tron and everyone I know doesn't have the issue.  Including myself, and the entire dev and test team. In fact, the only people to have reported it so far (outside of ITVX) are yourself and Danjo911.

Are you able to provide any more details?  Does it happen every time?  Can you specifically reproduce it through a known series of steps?

open MYTV

Recordings

select any recording from any channel

watch, hold to jump forward/back in time

be left with progress bar on screen, cycling between time elapsed/PLAY as in attached pictures

remedy by selecting something else to watch, then return to original recording

Hold how? Hold what?

either the buttons on each side of the OK button, or the ones either side of the play/pause button

you know, the usual ones you use to seek through a recording... same result

@Tron

Thanks - just recording something to try it on. Does IP Mode or Aerial Mode matter?

no aerial connection available

component software version - 4.1.162 (44059d)

manufacturer software - 0.11.12

@Tron

Just tried your recipe in Aerial Mode, and the progress bar disappears of its own accord after precisely five seconds.

So either your box is faulty, or this is an IP Mode issue. Not impossible, given that itv works differently in IP Mode, but I’m not going to trash my recordings and settings to switch my box over to try this; something for EETV to try, I think.

I do have my Box Mini in IP Mode (obviously) though, and while I don’t have any recordings on it (equally obviously), I have provoked the progress bar in streaming programmes, where I get the same five second shutoff.

Have you tried your recipe on streaming programmes, and found it is confined to recordings only, or are streaming programmes affected as well?

the issue is exactly as above, so please do not ask me to explain again and treat me like I was a liar as you did before

Component software 4.2.1.38 (ca7f40)

Man software 0.13.64

Hi @Tron  reading this thread the response to the issue you raised last year seems to be that the EETV team was not able to reproduce the problem and only one other user  had indicated that  they had experienced it. In  those circumstances I am not suprised it was parked. Unfortunately as the  thread was created by the original poster  as an ITV X  app issue it is not suprising that other users didn't add their experiences of issues with playback of recordings here.

There are other threads which may or may not have some similarities to your experience of a play bar remaining
