How does EE via Apple TV work?

Hi there!

There doesn’t seem to be a lot of information on this service and no YouTube Videos either.

Is this service somewhat similar to Sky Stream where you can add new airings of shows to a playlist and this takes you on demand, or is it just a Now TV app in disguise with no playlist features and having to search on demand for each show manually?

Thanks

It's has an EE TV guide app where you can find the limited selection of IP channels and it works like any other TV box in that aspect.

You can pause, and rewind or fast-forward upto an hour even if you have just went into a particular channel for the majority of free to air channels, but this doesn't work for now tv channels or as I have recently discovered, the challenge tv  channel.

There is no playlist or watch list.

To find shows you do need to go into the individual app. There is no universal search facility from within the EE TV app.

Now that EE are acting as sales reps for Sky stream, I would be inclined to look into that instead for an extra £7-8 quid a month for the entertainment package if that's all your interested in. I think it's worth it, if you can afford it, as you get more free to air and premium channels included.

If your just into sports, I guess EE TV is the better option, but for entertainment id be inclined to look into sky stream

Thank you! Probably should order the Pro Box then, I’d love Sky Stream however I currently live and look after my elderly mum, and she will only use Sky Q, and sharing storage on a Mini Box is wouldn’t be ideal as she’d delete content she doesn’t recognise.

I did try Sky Stream with her before but she wasn’t a fan and didn’t wanna learn it.

Not entirely correct @Weerab2024 - using search within the EE TV app will search all the linked players too (BBC, ITV, C4, C5, Amazon Prime, Now TV, etc).  The only one missing is Netflix.

We're working on watch lists, but a date for release cannot currently be given.

A small number of channels prevent pause/rewind - this is due to the content rights on those channels.

 That’s OK, @RichNCL

There is no storage on a Box Mini 😛
