GB News app to be removed from EE TV

JordanTA

GB News will be removing its app from our TV boxes from today  (21st October).

Aerial mode

  • If you’re in aerial mode, you’ll still see the GB News channel in your guide on channel number 236.

Internet mode

  • If you’re in internet mode, you can watch GB News on YouTube, search GB News in the YouTube App.

Why had this been removed. Very inconvenient to have to go to through another App to find another one

You'd need to ask GB News that @Westie54 - it wasn't included in the notification EE received from YouView, as it's not any of our business.

@Westie54

I messaged gbnews today, their reply is below.

Thanks very much for getting in touch. We know changes like this can be inconvenient, and we want to help you stay connected with GB News.

From 21 October 2025, GB News is no longer available through the internet-only version of EE TV.

However, you can continue watching us on EE TV boxes if you have an aerial connected as the live channel is accessible via aerial on Freeview.

There are also many other ways you can keep watching GB News live or on catch up, including the GB News app on connected TVs, Sky, Virgin Media Freesat, Freeview, Freeview Play, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, YouTube, and more.

We really value your support and want to make sure you don’t miss out. If you’d like help setting up another way to watch, just let us know – we’re always here to help.

Thank you for being part of the GB News community,

@pietro44 there are many channels that aren't available in Internet mode - there's nothing sinister about it. It just means that either there isn't a high enough demand for it, or a commercial agreement could not be reached with the content owner. If GB News want to be available in internet mode on EE TV, they're more than welcome - but the fact that they withdrew their app suggests that they're probably not interested.

GB News is back - they reached an agreement with YouView to bring the app back, but with 7 days of catch up instead of 30.
