GB News is back - they reached an agreement with YouView to bring the app back, but with 7 days of catch up instead of 30.

What a strange decision that is, they keep telling us they are outperforming Sky/BBC/C4 news channels. I did watch for news updates and the odd show like Michelle Dewbury, as they do seem to report on stuff people care about which get ignored by Sky, I wont get started on BBC news.

I use internet mode on the EE box so doubtful I'll be using YT to watch as its will be riddled with adverts every few minutes.

Very strange.

@GaryB17   It’ll be down to GB news not EE.  If GB news want to pull support on the box then can as they are the service provider for that channel.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

It does seem that there were problems with the GB News app on Youview/EETV boxes  as reported  on this forum GB App Crashing thread   where this statement was made in september 2025.

"The issue has been confirmed to be with the GB News app itself. YouView are working with them to fix it (as we don't have any direct relationship with them)"

So a month later the app is withdrawn - related or coincidence.

Anyway it is now history.

I would have thought a message about the withdrawal on the Youview/EETV boxes themselves would have been helpful to their users. Perhaps that is somethng EE could feedback.

Will you be bringing it back ?? You tube full of adds that cut into the program .. not happy !!

@Nicky109 It was GB News who chose to remove their app from the YouView platform - EE has never had any involvement in their presence. They can choose to come back to YouView any time they like.

EE its a disgrace to not have the best new channel on TV not sure when my contract ends but I will be looking to go with a rival as I watch this app all the time

@zulu17 - They seemed to have fixed the app about 2 months ago, it suddenly asked for a login to GBNews on my EEBox, after that it was perfect, no crashing or buffering. It is odd they didn't update anyone on this decision though, GB I mean not EE.

Oh well, they may reconsider when viewing figures suddenly drop, not sure how many subscribers EETV has in the UK but I imagine its second to Sky or Virgin so could be a big hit for GBNews.

GB News has never been on "EE TV" - they were on the shared YouView platform, and they chose to withdraw from it.

EE has never had any direct relationship with GB News, and it has never been part of the EE TV service.
