Got a bit of an odd one.
A while back i set my EETV Pro box to record the new Simpsons episodes on E4 Sunday night.
At some point i also spotted an older episode i fancied watching on another channel - i forget which one.
I accidently set this to series record which i then cancelled.
Now about once a week or so i get 3-4 episodes of The Simpsons appear as "Failed To Record" even though they are not set to record. They are definitely NOT the episodes i have set to record.
Stupidly i just deleted them out of frustration this afternoon before thinking to post here.
Anyone else seen/heard of anything like this?

Do you have the series set to record for the episodes you DO want? Or are you scheduling them manually episode by episode?
We have a bug being investigated by YouView at the moment, where a failed recording may appear on the TV Box, if the schedule data changes - i.e. that episode is marked as being part of the new series you've scheduled to record, but the schedule later updates to say that it's part of a different series. This can sometimes cause the TV Box to show a failed recording for something that had never actually tried to record.

Hi. Thanks for this. I did check for a previous thread but searching didn’t reveal anything that I thought was similar.
To clarify, I have the Sunday E4 episodes set to series record.
I suspect the “failed” recordings are a series record I deleted while back as there are always four consecutive episodes. I can get details next time it happens.
The episodes are definitely not listed to record and the failed recordings come from out of nowhere.
It sounds very much like the issue you have described above.

One feature that Youview never introduced that earlier Pvrs have was the ability to see and manage all the Series Records that had been requested including those for which no recordings were scheduled. I think Youview just drop Series records that have had no activity after a specific number of weeks/months.
One further complication is i believe that if a scheduled programme does not successful record Youview looks to recover by schedule it again which may result in it being scheduled on a different channel . (I imagine that would be based on Programme CRId.)

Yeah we have noticed that if you series record something and another series is added then it seems to add the new series to your scheduled recording automatically.
Also noticed that if the box misses the beginning or end of a recording and marks it as "Part recorded" when it repeats it records that episode again. Not sure if its happened on a different channel but certainly when a program that was on at 9pm is repeated on the same channel at say 1am three days later (with or without signing)
