Extend recording time

Hi, is it possible to extend recorded program times, getting fed up with the recording stopping before the end, very frustrating.

Hi @Higworth

If I remember correctly this is down to the broadcaster not the box/firmware. This is why you use series link and record the program afterwards in case of a break or news etc.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

As @Northerner says, the best you can do is to record the following programme as well 😢

YouView boxes use a system known as Accurate Recording, where the broadcaster sets the start and end points, which they should adjust if programmes run over; but few broadcasters do this.

YouView could have implemented padding, where users can manually add a bit of extra time fore and aft, but they chose instead to rely on AR. Which, without broadcaster sanctions from Freeview, will never work as it should 😢

However, a few examples - channel, programme, expected end time, actual end time - can sometimes shame the broadcasters into doing better.
