EETV UHD/Now query

Hi!

Sorry if this is going over old ground, I just can't find a definitive answer.

I cancelled Sky today, and looking at EETV. All looks great, but seeing reports of UHD/4K not working on the Now TV app, is this correct? But it works fine through the actual boxes (Edge/Pro) themselves?

Thanks a lot

Now TV Ultra Boost is not currently available on EE TV - so no UHD/4K content from Now TV via EE TV.

Ah thanks for your reply. I know where I went wrong! Very helpful.

Hi, any idea when/if Ultra boost will be available on Now Tv via EEtv? Cheers.

It'll be announced when a date is known.  No hints/clues/estimations can be given before then.

Hello there

I have just  moved our services from Virgin to EE , mostly because of your recording box . I asked for UHD  Sky -sports and have only found out afterwards that this is not possible and that it’s the box limitations that’s the issue. If this is the case how can you ever offer ultra boost (NOW) if it’s a hardware limitation?

I left Virgin because of their insistence on streaming … which to be honest we can all do ourselves these days.  We have not completed our order yet with EE but don’t want to feel we’ve made a mistake.

Is there anyway that we will be able to upgrade the NOW element directly to get UHD . It seems such a  waste having state of the art TV’s if you can’t get the signal.

The hardware is capable of showing the channel, however the BT/EE ordering/provisioning systems cannot currently support Ultra Boost.  It's therefore currently not available.

It will be made available at some point in the future, but no date can be given.

As far as we have been told by a well ragarded Mod on these forums it is not a box limitation as it will quite capably show 4k programmes on the TNT sports channel, it it rather a limitation with the EE ordering system which has been ongoing for almost two years now which is unbelievable.

Ok thanks for the update

Sp does that basically mean that EE/BT  can’t reach an agreement with Sky or Now …:i feel like  you have to have a degree in TV to  understand these things 🤨

I hate feeling disappointed with decisions made so I’m not sure what to do .

Best regards

@Malinda2708 It's to do with the BT/EE ordering systems, so nothing to do with an agreement between Sky and BT/EE.

It will be made available at some point but there is no time frame of when the systems will be able to support it.

If you want a recordable TV box with subscription channels, BT/EE is currently the only offering now with their pro box.

If you take a package and don't like it once you have it, you have 14 days to cancel.
