After 2 months of battling to get the TV Pro and Mini boxes to work without hardly any glitching and now having 3 x wifi hub extenders dotted around the house to help (not paying for these btw), the final straw was being told that despite being listed on their Entertainment Pack channel list which I subscribed to, AND me paying extra every month for the HD pack, Discovery 'HD' is only available if you have the 'BIG' Entertainment Pack for a whopping £48/month more than the advertised Entertainment Pack. All other channels are available in HD in the Entertainment pack, except Discovery. To make matters worse, when I pointed out their false advertising, I was told thee totally different stories by the useless complaints team. One being it wasn't included, the second being it was and it will be up and running shortly, then a call back to say no sorry, they were wrong and so is the website, so in needed to pay £48 extra to get that one channel in HD......BE WARNED PEOPLE, THIS COMPANY LIES, AND IS USELESS

@Weerab2024 Maybe but I wouldn’t hold my breath for it been soon or within the next year. Mainly because this could have been done by now or even on launch of EE tv. Ie make it a selling point.

If I undertand correctly from NOW.

Now standard gives you upto HD 720p
Now Boost gives you upto 1080p full HD
Now Ultra Boost gives you up to UHD 4K HD
So that poses the question as to why the linear Now channel s on EETV is being broadcast at less than 720p in Standard definition resolution if that is the case. Would they EETV not be entitled to receive 720p stream as standard ?

I’ve been trying for 4 months to get a straight answer from EE regarding the HD add on. Apparently it is available with BT on the Entertainment package, but not available through EE. I was originally with BT, but swapped to EE in May so I could get 2 extra room boxes (BT would only allow 1). It has been a nightmare as you get told different stories or fobbed off with long stories. I definitely won’t be renewing my broadband or TV with EE. Going back to Virgin !!!

Unfortunately I've just confirmed with the propositions team that it's not possible to order the "HD/4K add-on" on EE ordering systems. Only Now Boost is available as an add-on, which doesn't help with getting HD for discovery+.
I was surprised by this too, but it was a lesser-used option.
The only recommendation is to use the discovery+ app instead, where the content will be displayed in HD even without the add-on. The only thing you lose is the ability to record in HD, but most programmes are available on catch up.

Hi @PJY2010
For the Entertainment package you get SD versions of the NOW channels viewed via the TV box EPG. With the optional HD addon you effectively get the HD versions of those NOW channels viewable via the TV box EPG .
With the Entertainment package you get access to the NOW app which you can use on a variety of of devices subject to the terms of your Now subscription. Now has the optional NOW Boost addon which gives you full HD quality when in the app.
So the EETV HD addon and the NOW boost add on are separate addons but typically are bundled together when you have EETV. Provided the correct order is made you normally get both together on EETV although if it is done differently you could end up with only one or two seperate orders and charges for both. BT & EE have different order systems so "names" used and exact process for ordering the addons may differ between the companies.ie with BT you typicall order HD addon and get Now Boost included. EE may do it differently (perhaps the otherway round)
It should be a straightforward (monthly) addon to your EETV package costing of the order of £6/monthly. EE documentation does seem confusing so I am not surpised that you have had differing responses. It is a very common addon - I'm sure EE people can point you in the correct direction.
(my post was a while in preparation so DarrenDev answer actually preceded it)

Hi
i I understand your reply, but my frustration is that if I had stayed with BT I would still have now boost as well as HD 4K and be able to watch Discovery in HD.

You wonder what's the point in giving the option of Discovery HD as an option in the EPG then if full works customers are the only ones that can take advantage of it.
Bit of a sellout for everyone else not wanting the sports and cinema channels.

What is interesting is that EE appear to have discontinued allowing the EETV HD addon to be ordered in February this year.
The evidence for this is found in their historical price plans
where the plan of 6th Feb 2025 does not have it allowable whereas the previous plan of 19th Dec 2024 did.

Wonder if it ties in when the sports packages went HD only.

The EE ordering system excuse has been used for about 2 years with regards to the Now Ultra Boost. It's an absolute shambles. They could've re-platformed their entire tech stack multiple times in the time they have been "working on this".
