EE pushing for Apple box over pro box?

I was being nosey on the EE website and when you click on 'TV & Sport' there is only links for sky stream and the Apple TV 4K box but not the pro box.

This is making me think that EE are trying to push the pro box out of the picture and the only variation would be if you specifically asked for it when ordering?

It might have been like this for a while and I am only just noticing it. But then again when you click on explore EE TV it is just giving you pictures of the pro box and not the Apple TV box or mini box, so perhaps just an oversight.

If I browse incognito I still see the TV Box Pro and the sales journey defaults to it as the first choice hardware, making me pro-actively choose the Apple TV 4K if I want to change to it.

Ah ok well let's see what happens.

Will probably happen at some stage.

It wouldn’t surprise me, it is a really complete, modern solution if you don’t need recording.

Streaming live TV in a guide, all the apps, fully featured and capable of the best quality and the Apple TV app Continue watching/Watchlist to track on demand viewing.

Plus EE do not have to maintain hardware.

And EE app updates can happen quicker on apple TV boxes compared to pro or mini boxes.

Apps will become more advanced and I don't think the pro would be able to keep up to date with those advancements. For example I seen on here that the now app is being developed to bring it into line with peacock etc this year.

Pro boxes also still can't play FAST channels in the prime app as far as I am aware. I have been using the apple TV box since August so wouldn't know if this has changed.

As hardware that EETV have to maintain, they have their own remote for the Apple TV (thus supplanting the rather nice remote you get with a retail one 😢)

But this chap (is it Vic Reeves/Jim Moir channelling EETV’s desired demographic?) is equipped with the Box Pro/Mini remote at least :-

The remote is exactly the same as is available from One4All, Function101 and other brands available on Amazon and used by similar broadband providers who bundle Apple TV hardware (such as Salt in Switzerland).

I’ve got the pro box . . I don’t use the pro box, it’s only switched on when I want to check something that I’ve seen on here.

Still using my own  Apple TVs. with the subscription services provided with EE TV.

If you don’t record TV programs you don’t need the pro box and there’s always catch up.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

So I deduce you only have a cut-down EETV app, without the live channels on the EPG, or am I wrong?

Hi this is what i would like to do. Do you use the EE app on your Apple TV? When I do I can only see the discovery channel?

Thanks.
