Hi all,
It's worth starting by saying that my broadband and TV are good and that I had good service from the young lad, Harry, at my local EE shop (Newtownards NI) and from most of the helpline people on 150. It didn't go smoothly, including a double delivery of the hub and TV boxes - both late. But all's well that ends well.
A few problems though. I won't die on a ditch over any of them because I have: excellent broadband speed; a router that gives me good wifi around the house; and almost all the TV channels I want. (I've had to improvise using the satelitte tuner on my TV to get PBS America and Talking Pictures TV).
But...
Like a lot of people on here I can't get the wifi controls from the app. It just doesn't work or get me anywhere near working.
I can't measure my broadband speed because I seem unable "link" my "ID". Harry said he'd done this for me in the shop, but nothing doing. When I try to sort this out online it wants to put me through setting up the hub from scratch - not something I want to risk given I have most of what I want, and I've changed my SSID and password. Surely there's another way to do this without having to "Go directly to jail; do not pass go, do not collect 200."
I can't subscribe to Discovery+, despite it being stated multiple times by EE that a broadband and TV package includes free access to all Discovery+ channels. I get the TNT Sports channels directly on the TV listings, but cannot access the rest of Discovery plus. I've been through all the various routes to initialise the channel but it either asks me to login, which doesn't (related to the linking of my ID?) or I have to sign to pay a monthly subscription.
It's a bit frustrating, so any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Henry

Try a speedtest here http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html . Click on the "Results Page" button at the bottom of the graph you first see and then copy to here just the "Link to this result:" link that you see below the next main graph.

Many thanks for the reply XRaySpeX. I’m okay getting speed tests outside the EE app and hub manager, but it’s annoying that trying to do this from EE I need to link my ID, which doesn’t work. I mostly use Ookla Speedtest, but also thinkbroadband, which I’ve done for years. If I trail a cable across the house and use the Ethernet port on my Mac I’m getting around 900Mbps, but from my WiFi only devices (iPhone, iPad, ATV etc) the best I get is around 600Mpbs. I assume, therefore, that’s what my TV boxes get. TV pixelates more frequently than I’d like.
I probably need to see Harry again re the screen that tells me I need an EE ID linked to my account.
Cheers.

600 Meg is plenty enough for a TV. I can run a TV OK over 75 Meg.

My Virgin TV boxes were fed by cable and the picture was pretty well always perfect but my EE TV boxes aren’t as good over WiFi. Maybe it’s not the WiFi but the EE feed?

I’m just watching TNT Sport Ultimate now and it’s stuttering rather a lot.
