Since the latest EE TV app update, the app will not connect to my BT recordable TV box. I do not subscribe to any BT tv , but I was always able to select freeview programs from the app and send the record request to the box remotely. Advice required.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

@NickiW39 your TV Box is failing to return its config when queried, meaning the app doesn't know what to do with the recording requests. The app should have shown you error IA-YV157 to you, however I can see this didn't happen - I'll raise that as a bug.
To fix this, you'll need to factory reset your TV Box - you can keep your existing recordings. Once reset, you'll then need to pair the app with it again.

Thanks for the prompt response.
I’ve done this, but still having issues. There is a notification popping up in the app but I can’t read it all. It says, “We’re having problems connecting to your tvbox. Is it turned on and connected to ….”
whats weird is 2 scheduled recordings have popped up that I reckon I tried when I previously paired my phone or another device to the box.

Unfortunately your TV Box is still reporting that it doesn't support recording. If you already tried a factory reset with keep recordings, then you may need to try a full factory reset.
One question: is the box successfully recording programmes when you set them directly on it?

Apologies for delay in replying, I've just been using the box within its available capabilites ie no full factory reset has been done . Yes the box successfully records programmes when i set them directly on it, and i can see all the scheduled recordings in the app on my phone. I have even tried different leads to connect to the router, but no luck.
I should also note that on the box itself, when in MyTV I do not have a a Watchlist page, just a Recordings and a Scheduled page so it will not allow me to use the functionality from the 7day scroll back in the TV guide that i did on my old DTR T2100, which seems like a step backwards

Something is definitely wrong there. I can only suggest a full factory reset to restore normal service.
