I have recently changed from BT to EE. I now have a black box to control my TV, but the box comes on itself quite often which starts the TV working. I have spoken to EE support and have been given a replacement remote control but I still get the problem.
There is no pattern that I can identify about when this happens. I see other comments on this Forum about what looks to be the same problem so I am not alone.
I do not like the idea of electrical equipment out of control. Potentially this could be a fire risk.
Is there anyone with a full solution to this?

I’ll have a go later. Need a nap after my early morning wake up call from EE.

Where did you try to email @BigD4 ?
Let me know if you still see the box turning itself on from this updated power mode.

I used the reply link on your email. Having just checked it doesn’t look like an email address
I’ll leave it on tonight with the volume down so it doesn’t wake people up

I've just come across this page after searching this exact problem.
We've been having this issue since the change of equipment from BT to EE.
Our EE box turns on randomly at any time of the day or night.
My guess is that it's happening to a lot more people, but they haven't seen this page to comment.
I will try the powering down suggestion first, to see if it does it over the next few days.
Thanks for the advice.

Maybe if we all complain at once EE will take some action about random TV box actions.

@JZW_2025 we can't take action until we find the cause. It's not happening on any of our test rigs or boxes in our office, so we're still trying to narrow it down.

I appreciate the problem. I've been at both ends of this type of situation before I retired and something that could take about six weeks to show up is really difficult. At least there are others with what looks like the same thing so it is real.
If there is any investigation I can do or try I will willingly do so.
