EE HD v Sky UHD

Hi,

We've just come over from Sky where we had UHD and now have EE HD and there seems to be a huge variation in quality.

When we took this out EE said that as long as we had HD we shouldn't see the difference but it is significant.  I wondered if this is the same with everyone or perhaps just our TV/settings?

We have 14 days to cancel with EE if we aren't happy so wondered what other people have experienced please?

Thank you

Hi .I wouldn’t recommend eetv for viewing uhd.they broadcast only in hd.if
you are looking for tv packages to view in uhd i would seriously consider
joining sky with the uhd package and at the moment they are doing fast
broadband speeds of 300mps for 29 pounds a month.sky package is around 30
pounds with uhd.to view uhd you will need speed of 50mps or more.hope this
helps

Hiya

I am not necessarily that bothered about UHD per se it's just some people have complained that HD with EE is pretty poor.

Sky Broadband near us is not clever and we are yet to be converted to full fibre so 30mps is about the best we get.
Many Thanks
Mike

Hiya

I am not currently with Sky or have a tv package so looking which way to jump. We don't have full fibre yet with EE available yet so we get around 25-30 mbps at best.

I am not sure which way to jump to be honest regarding the TV.
Many Thanks
Mike

Hi thanks for the reply

So you basically leave the box to pick up all channels and the Ariel in the TV is just now a backup for terrestrial channels?

We have EE broadband but still not converted to full fibre so can manage around 30mbps speeds.

Do you have any of the Sky channels via EE and do they view ok or do you think I need full fibre to get the best service?
Many Thanks
Mike

I agree, the quality on Sky is significantly better. I will be moving back to Sky if it doesn’t improve. Even the HD channels aren’t as clear in my opinion. Pretty poor tbh.

Hi

I have just started with EE TV this week and I agree the HD isn’t as good as through the TV freesat tuner.

I might check on how long I have to cancel the contract and see what the equivalent cost is with Sky.
Thanks

Mike

I just took EE TV and found the picture quality inferior the HD is worst than sky hd and you cannot get uhd on sky sports even though they tell u that u can! No ultra boast available it took me one day to go back get cheaper deal with sky stream . No recording but picture quality is so much better

The TV guide channel are the poorest even hd the apps are not much better we come to the conclusion it's the box .  As our TV apps were good.

Hi

I got in touch with support and they were really helpful and in the end sent an EE specialist out and both my Apple TV and the mini box on our 2nd TV work great.
Thanks
