EE Cable TV

Quick question, what do you think of EE’s 1£ a month cable TV plan? Is it worth it and good? As I’m aware it goes to 20£ after 6 months. What kind of shows do you get on sky sports? Can I watch the hockey games or NHL?

Names are tricky. When my father was based in Nova Scotia during the war, someone came in to say “There’s a moose in the radar room!” so he ran in with his colleagues expecting to find untold damage from an elk-like creature.

But it turned out the guy who raised the alarm was a Scot….

The problem with introductory offers is that we established users often don’t see them, even if we look at nominally the same page, as out cookies tell the page to display differently. So can you post a screenshot of what you are looking at?

£20 would normally get you Entertainment from Now (as per Sky), Discovery+, and basic Netflix, so I imagine that what the £1 offer would cover. Sport is extra, £36/mo for Sports from Now, and there is still more on TNT if you want that too.

If you browse Now, or can download the app or find it on a device you have, you can look at what Sports has to offer, and see if, and how well, the sports you mention are covered, and so if that’s worth it for you; but as you would expect, there’s a strong UK and Europe bias. NFL is well represented; though NHL, I think is subscribed to via Premier Sports, outside of the EETV collection.

I’ve never heard of this. Cable? Can you point to some promotional material?

Ah I apologise and feel silly, in Canada we usually just call live TV “cable”. They’re notorious for charging loads of money so most people stick to Netflix etc…

Haha, that moose story is brilliant! I can just imagine the confusion in the radar room. I’m actually from Montreal, so hearing about Nova Scotia always makes me smile—it’s such a beautiful part of Canada. Since moving to the UK, I’ve been blown away by how friendly and welcoming people are. From my friends to my coworkers, everyone has made me feel so at home here, and I’m incredibly grateful for that. It really goes to show how kind and open British people can be.

Thanks as well for the breakdown on the EE TV offers—I really appreciate the insight! I was curious if NHL was included, but it sounds like that’s through Premier Sports instead. I’ll definitely check out Now and see what’s available. Thanks again for taking the time to explain everything!
