I’ve followed the advice online from EE TV and unfortunately the EE TV remote control allows me to change the volume but not switch the TV on and off.
With my previous TV (Sony Bravia), pressing the on/off button simultaneously switched on both the EE box and the TV. That doesn’t seem to work with the JVC.
I simply don’t want multiple remote controls. One is enough. Can anyone advise what the problem might be, please, and how I solve it? TIA.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hi @steve1974uk,
Welcome to the Community!
Are you following the steps on Pairing your EE TV remote with your TV help page when you're pairing it?
Could you also try pairing it through the TV settings under Bluetooth settings > Pair a new device?

Of course I tried following the steps in that guide. They didn’t work, which is why I posted the query in the first place. Please read my post again.

Just a quick check @steve1974uk - are you holding the power button down? You need to hold it for a couple of seconds to also turn off the TV. Just pressing will only turn off the TV Box.

That's the reason I abandoned the EE pro box
Went from Sony led to Sony oled with Google tv...the once active pro remote just didn't turn the tv off on the new Sony
For the record wont turn off a Hisense either
Better selection of App's on google tv so bye bye pro box
