Can I record if my box is off or in standby mode?

If I've set a programme to record,  will it still do this if the box is off or in standby mode, e.g it's not been used for a while therefore is in standby?

Off at the mains, or the switch on the back if it has one, no it can’t record.

On and in standby, the box is exactly designed to wake up when a recording is due, make the recording, and then go back into standby.

Fully on, it will make the recording, and stay fully on; so you don’t need to worry about putting it back in standby to record, if it happens to be on at recording time.

Hello @Penny42 ,

Welcome to the community,

If the box is off, I suspect you will not be able to record, but in standby mode, yes, I see no reason why not, you should then be able to record a program. Your TV can be off, it will still record, just in case you were wondering.

Thanks so much. The box will be in standby, like power save mode. I guess
I'll give it a try and see. Thanks for your reply.
