I have one of the old BT TV youview boxes and it makes really loud clicking and cracking noises even when it’s in standby. How can I get a replacement box?

It sounds like the hard drive is on its road out.
If it's one supplied by EE/BT to you and part of your existing contract you can request a new box.
If it's one bought outside of a BT/EE order and/or you are not currently a customer with a contract that the box is associated with you'll need to buy another box or look up a video on YouTube on how to replace the hard drive at your own risk/cost.

Do you have a contract for EE / BT TV?

@GregBowie if you have a current EETV contract with either BT or EE then if the box is the one that was supplied as part of that contract then reporting the fault with the relevant company customer technical support should be the approach. If you are within your minimum term of the EETV contract then any replacement deemed necessary should not affect/change your existing minimum term,. If you are outside your minimum term and on a rolling monthly EETV contract you may be asked to commit to a new minimum term.
