quick first impressions
so decided to give ee tv a go, what a nightmare trying to order, having to through one department to get forwarded to sales, then had an open order, so had to wait for that to clear, them having to regrade my broadband from 500mb to 900mb one just to get it for Apple TV, not to sure how correct that was. Took me about 1 hour on the phone and 3 calls. This has surprised me, as normally with sales it’s a breeze.
it appears it’s geared to you selecting tv and broadband at the time of ordering
any way.
Apple TV - slick, great picture, EE tv App - disappointing it does not pull through Netflix, Amazon, Disney YouTube to ee app.
media boxes, overall they are pretty good, though disappointing no Disney plus or you tube.
if you had media boxes with all the latest apps, I actually prefer the ui and remote on these, yep Apple TV 4K, if your an Apple user, it’s a breeze. However what let’s it down in my view my is the ee app not full/ same ui experience as on mini media boxes, does not pull though all the apps. Maybe this will come in time.
going to explore it more, see if it’s a keeper, as Disney plus and you tube is big miss on the mini boxes and on the Apple TV, am I really going to use the EE tv app.
in summary, all easy to use, just overall integration having everything in one place lets it down,

@Sheppy124 The EE TV app will never pull Disney plus and YouTube as that’s not offered via EE TV at present. The mini boxes are just what’s offered by EE TV and EE can not just install Disney and YouTube as the developers need to create the app for these devices and that’s down to them not EE. EE might of approach them to do this and they just might but it could just be they want to see too how these devices go before they spend time and resources creating such an app for these boxes. The Apple TV box is the best of everything that’s offered and not offered by EE TV providing you don't want to record anything.

There is no perfect offering, Sky probably gets closest, but their hardware is shonky and they would charge you per eyeball if possible.
As far as EE TV goes, if you are not fussed about recording and want the streaming experience, I personally would have thought the Apple TV 4K is the route to go down as your main daily driver, even if you are not in the Apple ecosystem.
It has all the apps (including the ones missing from EE TV), in up to Dolby Vision quality, which (excluding Netflix), you can use with the Apple TV+ app "Up Next" rail as a Watchlist for tracking your app viewing.
This works across all the standard catch up apps plus Disney+ NOW, Prime etc. and doesn't need an Apple TV+ subscription.
You then use the EE TV app for your TV Guide and any live viewing. In terms of hardware, the box leaves the EE kit for dust in terms of power and reliability, plus it has voice search.
