Why am I as a business customer on the unlimited plan now not able to use my hotspot for my laptop as a data point? Since going Sim only 3 months ago I’m having the issues where I seem to have a Data cap on hotspotting when I can see no reference to a hotspot as sharing data, this is now a serious issue as I cannot do any work tonight due to this.
when I last spoke to someone they told me that I have fully unlimited data and hotspotting doesn’t cost extra nor does it come from this “gifting” data yet I get this text every month when I’ve barely used my hotspot.
Hi from EE: You've now used all of the data you can gift. You'll get more next month but, in the meantime, you can continue to enjoy using your unlimited data allowance.
but yet if I want to talk to someone I now have to wait till 8am? This is beyond a joke never had this issue before I went sim only and this is supposed to be the exact same contract.

It's only talking about data that you may potentially gift from the 1st 100GB of all your data to other nos. on your a/c if you choose to. It's just a warning just in case you wanted to. You may safely ignore it & carry on using data for your own purposes including hotspotting.
As you use data for your own use you are eating into this gifting allowance even when you are not actually gifting it.
Notice that it didn't say "You've gifted data you can gift" just that "You've used data you can gift".

This is the problem I cannot use my hotspot now, it will not load anything at all. However mobile data on my phone works as I am replying to you.

Is it only your laptop that won't connect to your hotspot or have you been able to test other devices?
