I didn’t want to start a new thread about this when my question is essentially the same, but the advice given on this post isn’t working for me as customer services are not able to help.
My personal contract is coming to an end I want to upgrade my handset, but I also want to switch to a small business contract and keep the original number. I’m not sure what order to do things in.
The advice on this thread is to call customer services to speak to someone about switching from a personal account to a business one. I have tried calling multiple times and none of the advisors knew how this could be done. I have spoken to the 150 customer service team, someone from the business customer service team and was eventually given an email address via WhatsApp. I have sent a couple of emails but have had no response. I also spoke to someone in the retention team who had no idea either.
What is the best way to get some advice about this? It feels like it would be easier to take out a new business contract with a different provider and just request a PAC at this point.

Out of interest, what was the email address issued on WhatsApp? EE CS don't have a published email address.
Business CS staff should be aware of the process to transfer a personal account in - essentially you provide all the details of the proposed business account holder to allow a credit check. The account changes are usually made during the same call.
There's no implications on upgrades that I'm aware of, but CS should be able to confirm.

Basically EE can’t transfer a number registered to an EE account to another account with EE
The way to manage this is to transfer number from current EE account to another provider with PAC then transfer back to the new EE account.
Seams senseless to me

EE have a "change of ownership" process to do exactly this, and enable transfer of lines between users. Swapping lines between accounts held by the same user is also perfectly permissible.

They did exactly this for me, swapped my number from personal to small business. Took ages to sort out, In my experience most of the operators are useless and really don’t know what they are doing. Finally managed to get someone decent after 2 weeks of back and forth and they sorted it all out. May be better off going into an EE shop if possible.
