email address format / aliases

Does anyone know if it is possible to use Gmail aliases on a MyEE account? e.g. instead of *********** use ***************?

It's a useful way of filtering emails.

Thanks

Hi @JHo1,

Yes you can.

I never give out my non-aliased address so when i begin to receive spam, I can see exactly who leaked my email online 😊.

Thanks,
Alex

Can't you suck it & see? I should think it should be acceptable to EE as it is a valid form of an email addy & any de-aliasing will be done at the GMail server.

I thought of that but I'm afraid of locking myself out of the account. Results so far are inconsistent. When setting up an account the alias was accepted and an email was sent to the designated address but when I clicked on the link to verify the address I got "Oops something went wrong". I only got past this stage by using a standard email address.

Thanks for the suggestion.

That is strange. I use a subaddress on my ee account. Maybe try using your regular email address and update it to a subaddressed version afterwards, or call 150 and ask them to do it for you.

It definitely works, as I have it and receive emails all the time.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks. That gives me some confidence to try it.

On a side note I'm finding this web site pretty awful, I won't start to list the ways, I'd be here all day but "sorry we can't log you in" when I'm logged in and browsing my pack is pretty scary. I'm thinking of switching to EE but the web experience is frightening the willies out of me.

That worked but... weird. I tried +ee as I did when attempting and failing to create the account but apparently that address is taken. Perhaps it remembers the address for a while. Anyway I went with +myee so problem solved. I think I manage my email like you do by the sound of it. Selected stuff gets forwarded to an account that  look at and all of the rest gets ignored. Thanks.
