When looking at Phone numbers EE partners will call from help page, this number (01438 989 236) shows as one of our Direct Partners called Step Change.
If you're ever concerned a call may not be genuine, it's always best to double check and contact us directly.

I had the same call! Trying to buy me out of my Sky contract. I just put the phone down after a while and blocked the number.

Step Change is a debt management company. EE should not be passing out customers details to a 3rd partner, regardless of affiliation, without consent from a customer. I just had a call from this company as well, i hung up, clearly i'm not struggling to pay my phone bill so why on earth would you be passing my contact number to them??

Hi @XMissLX.
Step Change is not a debt management company.
This is one of our direct partners calling to provide you information on additional products and services.
Information on numbers Step Change will call from can be found on our Direct Partners Help page.

Literaly just spoken to an EE colleague in your Glasgow service centre and explained from looking at this post i had rec'd a call from Step Change, the partner you confirm belongs to the contact number. When i confirmed step chamge are a debt management company the girl i spoke with agreed they were.
I work in finance and we refer people to step change, also if you google them it comes up saying they are a company who support people with finances...

Hi @XMissLX.
I have just done a search and can see StepChange is a debt charity which we would also refer customers to so I can see how this has caused some confusion, however our direct partner which is also called Step Change contacts EE customers providing them information on additional products and services nothing regarding debt management.
Our partner Step Change is listed on our Direct Partners page which also provides information that they will only contact customers to discuss additional products and services.
StepChange for debt management is listed on this page HERE.
There seems to be two different companies called Step Change, however spelt differently.
Could I please just check what the caller advised when you answered the call?
Katie
