Just taken a call on number 07384714*** from an Indian sounding male asking if I had experienced any drop if service locally from ee. Replied no, and he then proceeded to pitch a 30% saving to my bill, and would I be interested. My responce was send me an e-mail as I not able to do anything over the phone. My wife who was listening said it was a scam, and the caller obviously overheard her say that and automatically cut the call. So, moral of the story if it sounds to good to be true, then its a scam.
<mod edit: removed full phone number>

Hi @tsr2Arrow,
Welcome to the Community!
I can understand your concern about receiving one of these calls. We do have some guidance about how to avoid scam calls moving forward.
You can also check the numbers we're likely to call you from, so you'll know if this number is one of ours.

Hi Rach,
I also just had a call from an 020 number from an Asian gentleman saying the my eSIM was faulty and wanted to upgrade me to 5G+. Put me on to his supervisor also Asian, who asked for my email address. As you already have my email address I found this strange so declined to share it with them, I then hung up.
can you confirm if you are upgrading (for free) to 5G+, if so why are you using call centres that have no access to my data?
thanks.

@IanBolton It's not EE calling, that's why. It's a scammer trying to get your details.

Hi @IanBolton
Welcome to the community.
That does sound a bit suspicious. The best thing I can advise, is to call our customer support team, who'll be able to check your account history.
I'd also recommend reporting the call, so that it can be looked into further.
Thank you.
Chris
