Hi all,

on 4th February 2026 at 16:45

i had a gay call me saying my SIM card will be blocked tomorrow and EE will be sending out a new SIM card for me and they need to provide it is me and will I give them my email so they can send me a email and I have to click on the link and send them the code I kept saying to them the email was block by gmail due to scam Alert and when I told them this they kept sending me emails and they kept getting blocked they got so upset they ended the call then I had a follow up call 5 mins later tell me that they are merging with 3 network and they need my details to send new SIM card as my sim will be blocked, I told them if your EE you will have my details and once they could not tell me anything about my account I blocked them and come on here to report it.

guys be careful they sending out very nasty emails that will take over your account or system I did not open it I reported it as a scam and deleted them EE would not be like this and if in doubt tell them you are calling EE on a second phone.

be safe

another scam today - "due to EE merging with BT" we need to send you a new SIM because of issues on our end

your current one will stop working in a couple of days

no idea what the scam/info they wanted was - hung up at this point.

@Profile closed : EE merged into BT years ago, not today!

Thanks for flagging this, @Profile closed

I've had similar calls recently, but they always claim to be from Three, as that's where my number originated before I joined EE.

If you get the chance, can you please report this number to our security team via our form here?

You can also check out the genuine numbers our team will call from on the links below:

OK, I worded this incorrectly

I was referring to the EE/BT merged entity starting to use the BT brand name again for mobile as well as the EE brand name

@Profile closed This scam has nothing to do with the recent BT news other than the perpetrators using it as plausible means to sell their story.

As I mentioned, I've had similar calls purporting to be from Three, and in those calls they claim I need a new SIM due to their merger with Vodafone.
