Potential Scam Alert

BinaryAxis

Hi all.

I've just had a call from what appeared to be a Leeds number (01135346137), claiming to be from EE customer services.

The caller was stating that I was eligible for a 40% discount on my EE sim-only plan, and that this could be activated now by taking a few details. I said "If you work for EE you should have all the details you need", to which the caller claimed they needed to be taken again to prove I was indeed the account holder.

At this point I hung up the line, but didn't see anywhere on EE to verify the caller, so I've raised it here. If anyone from EE can confirm if this was genuine or a scammer, please let me know. There was a lot of talking in the background making it sound like a call centre.

Done this thanks.

Getting ever more crafty in their approach. Wanted me to give MY details which EE would have known, to prove I was the person they were calling. 😂😂😂
