Possible scam?

I got a call today from a private number and this number '02081442980' claiming to give me a  discount + a free gift hamper. I have gotten a discount from EE via a phone call before plus they knew all my details i.e my monthly mobile bill, the date of my next bill, my address etc. so I thought it was legit. Even their confirmation email for the gift hamper which they sent through with the email id 'info@eesale.co.uk', looked legit. But then they asked me for all my card and bank details for the shipping costs for the gift hamper. Being naive and desperate I gave my details but instantly starting regretting it and blocked my card. I just want to confirm if it's normal for EE to send gift hampers like an iPad pro for customers who simply have a EE sim card and if the phone number and email I provided actually belongs to EE?

Hi @Jk240

Thanks for coming to the EE Community.

You've definitely done the right thing by blocking your card, as this is not a genuine call or offer from EE I'm afraid.

If you haven't done so already, please make your bank aware of what's happened too and they'll advise of the best next steps.

I know this won't have been a nice experience for you at all, and scams like this can often seem genuine when they aren't.

We have listed Phone numbers EE partners will call from and also How do we contact you? directly from EE. If you ever want to double check a number is genuine, it will be listed on one of these pages.

We have a really handy page on How to avoid and prevent scams that you may find useful.

Please make sure to report this call to us directly, just text CALL followed by the number who contacted you to 7726 for investigation.

Thanks so much,

Linzi
