I have received a phone call, supposedly from EE, stating that they are swapping from 4G to 5G on Friday and that I habanero being sent a new SIM and the old one will not work after Friday. Impossible to speak to anybody on EE app so wondered if anybody else has heard of this

They tried again today, using London number 02038853318.  I was not polite!

I had the same call on the 7th of December and they were very convincing.  Indian gemtleman said his name was Josh Edmonds and they were cancelling old sims and repacing new ones due to complaints about the service and they were upgrading.  They also wanted me to be in to receive a delivery of a new sim card on Monday. Stupidly believed them (I really do have atrocious reception) and got an email telling me that my password had been changed......immediately changed it again after being told, "sorry, I sent the wrong e-mail".

I was called by 07526 889593 and 07528 393405 and gettting bombarded  by 020 81335175, multiple times a day since.

Gave me additional information on where to contact him if there were any issues:

1 Braham Street, London, England, E1 8EE (EE's Head Office) and instructions to as for Employee ID BT09007 and to sweeten the deal, I was getting a discounted phone bill too.

This is why I dont generally pick up for unknown numbers.  Lesson reinforced.

They called on 07526 889593 and 07528 393405 and gettting bombarded  by 020 81335175.

Hi I got call from 07597 187497 today.

They said my ee needs new sim, but I'm not on ee but I played along just to see what they say. So they said my sim will be disconnected and I need new sim, and some upgrades. I said that I need them to send me email to see what upgrades and I will think about it. And I'm not making any deals over phone. They ( Indian man and women)  said I have to confirm my email. And they already know my email. So I said okay my email starts with them 3 letters can you tel me the rest of letters before @.

They could not do that so I said I'm busy and hand up.. Than I looked up on Google I find this forum that explains all.

I received the same type of call today, saying my SIM was old and faulty. They wanted to send me a new SIM, asked for my email, and then said they were sending a notification to my phone, and I would need to enter a code to access it. At that point I hung up, and blocked the number. Then I received further calls from different numbers from the same person.

Numbers are: 0161 531 1038 and 07954 205 694.

Hi @lynnwil0 and @ejc25

Thanks for flagging this to us.

These are not calls from EE, and sound like they may be scam attempts.

If you do get a call claiming to be from EE, you can check if it is a genuine number that we use on our How do we contact you page, or if it is from one of our authorised partners on our Direct Partners page.

There is also handy information on how to report any scam calls, texts or emails you may receive on our How to avoid and prevent scams: phishing, vishing and smishing page.

“Mary” called again today to tell me my sim will be replaced tomorrow.  I let her rattle on until she asked for my email address, then told her I didn’t believe a word she said, and she is a criminal and should find another job.  The number was 0203766  3537.

Got call today again from Indian Lady. (Getting calls for last 3 weeks now) She said that my Internet is slow on my EE and I need new sim card. I asked what is my name who she is calling she keep saying her name 3 times. So I said I'm not on EE network. She asked me what network I am. I said thus is a scam. She said no it's not. I said I talked to EE and they said there is no such thing sim change going on so it's scam. She said good day and hang up.

Number was

01615315503

United Kingdom (20 min a go)
