Phantom Call

I received a call from a number I did not recognise, and then another from the same number again and they left a voice message giving their name and asking me to ring back if I was trying to get hold of them. I rang the guy who was a builder and had been ringing around for materials and when my number came up he thought I was supplier. I never made a call to him?? This happened around six months ago, I answered a call and the guy said 'you just rang me?' I assured him I had not and he said how come I have your number then?  I had been driving for over 3 hours so there was no way I had made the call. In neither case were they asking for personal details, just returning a 'missed call'

How long have you had your current number?

Have you provided the caller with any of your personal information?

Ages and ages. I haven't handed over any personal info and they haven't
asked for anything. I am convinced, both calls, even though months apart
are genuine.

@Outlawajamundo  Sounds like someone is spoofing your number.
