No reputable organisation would ever ask you to "click here to update your details", it's an absolute classic phishing technique.
A very reliable way of checking whether your EE account is "on hold" is to either verify via your myEE online account.. or check your phone. Is it working? Can you make & receive calls? Can you send & receive texts?
Report the spam text by forwarding it free to 7726 (SPAM on your phone's keypad) and then delete it.
