Getting calls from people saying I called them - but didn’t

I’ve been called by 2 different people recently saying they had a missed call from me. These were not scammers, just people saying something like “Hi it’s Derek, I just had a call from you”. I have also been receiving frequent calls from UK mobile numbers where they instantly hang up. Is someone spoofing my number?

Any help appreciated.

Yes, probably to hide their id while scamming others. The Number Spoofing Scam - Ofcom explains what could be causing this. It usually dies down after a short time, but if you feel like you need to, you can change your number through our Customer Support team.

I also am experiencing this.....

Usually a month or so apart and then 2 or 3 different people call me saying "I am returning your call"

All genuine people as I have spoken to some of them....but I know 100% that the call was not from me.

So EE - can you check on your network if someone is also using the same SIM codes or "spoofing" as this is ongoing and annoying.  There was one today at 11:22 from a company I have never called but they were returning a call to me.......So something is going on and I believe you should be able to check logs and "ping" the call-sign and see what returns you get.

Happy to speak to someone about this.............was trying to get onto WhatsApp but the number provided returns a "No results for 0748396100

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
