A relative has received multiple emails from this address, one relaying to EE ID, another confirming a broadband setup (with a completely different name, address and account number e.g. ****1234) and another. Is this a scam and should the messages be ignored?

That's a valid no-reply email addy from EE. Perhaps somebody has a similar email addy to yours but spelt it wrong.
