We have EE Broadband. Got a visit from Virgin Media yesterday trying to sell us their broadband. Guy was doing the street and had a Virgin Media car. Gave him my email address and name (info that can be got anywhere) so he could email me some quotes.
Less than five minutes later my wife got a text from EE saying they were sorry to see us wanting to leave etc. I phoned EE on the number in the text (03301231105) and explained we didn't want to leave EE. I was told that it's not as simple as just blocking the transfer and they would call my wife same time tomorrow evening to discuss it. I asked if I should contact VM also and was told yes. After an hour on the phone to VM I was getting suspicious as they couldn't find a request issued to EE to transfer out broadband. They also said they would contact me today. Any thoughts people?

Hi @ElliesBoss,
Welcome to the EE Community
I am not sure what has triggered the text about wanting to leave as that does seem suspicious timing, but just to confirm the 03 number in the text is our legitimate number to report fraud as reported on our help page here Online Security: Fighting Fraud | Help | EE
So when calling that number, that side of things is legitimate and hopefully when they do call to speak to your wife everything will be cleared up.
