You will need a new EE SIM to use EE's network, are you taking a SIM-only plan and using your existing phone? Or have you purchased a new phone? SIM-only orders are sent out by post.

Your SIM will have a temporary EE number initially, assuming you provided your PAC as part of the order process. When you first activate your new EE SIM by switching the phone on, your calls, texts & mobile data will be fully functional on the temporary number. Assuming this is a working weekday, your PAC will be submitted the same day and port-in most likely the following working day.

If you activate your SIM on a Bank Holiday or weekend, the PAC will be submitted the following working day and thus port-in the working day after that.

Thanks for your reply.

I still have my old phone and i did provide my pac code when buying the contract. will i have to call ee to activate everything? or will everything just work automatically after i put the sim in?

I assume you have bought a SIM-only plan, and you've just purchased a SIM.

Your SIM will have a temporary EE number initially, assuming you provided your PAC as part of the order process. When you first switch the phone on with your new EE SIM inside, your calls, texts & mobile data will be activated & fully functional on the temporary number. Assuming this is a working weekday, your PAC will be submitted the same day and port-in most likely the following working day.

You may receive text messages confirming PAC submission and/or port-in date. You should certainly receive a text message once your port-in has completed.
