Hi, it is my first experience with EE - just bought a new SIM card - at it is VERY frustrating. I want to keep my number from the old operator but in the EE form they say that both my PAC and STAC are not correct. I am copying from the message in the right format and EE keeps saying the format is wrong. I feel like an idiot. I can;t even call them or have a chat. I spent one hour doing this repetitive actions with STAC with no success. WHAT do. I do now?

ops. the topic is still open.

thanks soo much Matt. the call does not get thru - 360, 44 7953966150 / 250 /350 - call failed each time. I topped up my sim but still "call failed" notification. I am trying to call from abroad therefore I use these numbers.

@irene333  You have to speak with both EE and your old provider ASAP.    You need to make sure EE customer support have your PAC.   Failing to do this ASAP will definitely result in you losing that number.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Where are you trying to call from?

Download Skype and you should be able to call for free on +44 800 079 8586.

To further complicate things, your EE SIM needed to be activated in the UK first before using it and the Port cannot go through correctly until you are back in the UK so there are numerous issues here.

It is really best to try and talk to EE using Skype as I've linked above.

@irene333   Have you restarted the device since you got to this location?

@irene333    I’ve just noticed you have two threads going.  One about roaming and the other about migration of a number.

If you are outside the UK you can not migrate a number.    If you haven’t used that EE sim in the UK to make a call send a text first it’ll not work abroad.

PAC = Porting Authority Code. Move your number and cancel previous contract.

STAC = Service Termination Authority Code. Cancel previous contract & disconnect number.

you were so helpful! I did manage to get in touch with support via Skype (haven't used it for 7 years!) - and yes they cancelled the transfer. Thank you so much! sending lots of blessings 🙂

Thank you! I was not aware about not being able to activate outside the UK. Thank you!
