I have just bought a cellular iPad mini and would like a SIM card for it. I read somewhere that there was a £5 data sharing SIM card that uses your phone allowance for the iPad but not sure if this is still a thing? Otherwise how do you add an iPad SIM card from ee without having to buy an iPad directly from ee.

Hi @Vaughan2210
Welcome to the community.
I'm not aware of that plan for iPads, but we have a similar one for Apple Watches. If you're looking for a pay monthly plan for the iPad, you just need to purchase a SIM only plan. Here's a link to the SIM Only data SIM offers.
We'll send you a SIM card that should slot in. Just make sure your iPad definitely has a SIM slot.

My iPad doesn’t have a sim tray (iPad M4) - how do I add the data plan?

Hi @AmroB
Welcome to our community.
iPads are either Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi + Cellular. If you don't have a SIM slot then it's possible your iPad has an eSIM. Are you already an EE mobile customer?
