can i change my payg number another number without changing the my payg account

i have a payg sim card for 11 years now and have a fair amount of data and boosts .recently someone has got hold of my number and im receiving dodgy texts and calls .ive been blocking them but its seems endless.can i keep my original sim card and payg account/deal and the number be changed by EE? any help appreciated .
