Getting texts and calls meant for previous owner - New Sim Only

Good morning all,

I've recently (within 2 months) got a sim only card, and this came with a new number.

Since getting it, I'm getting many calls from people assuming I'm a certain persion, lets say Jim (Not his real name).

After explaining I'm not Jim, they apologise and then ring back later chatting as though I'm Jim.

I've also received texts from debt collection agencies asking for Jim saying I need to contact them.

It looks like I've got a recycled number and now I'm getting spammed with calls from people and companies I don't need.

Is there a way I can change my number so I don't get this?

Sorry to hear you are having an issue with calls on your new number asking about the previous owner of the number. If you are having an issue with lots of calls like that, please give our team a call on 150 and they will be able to take a look into changing the number for you to help stop them.
