I'd like to take advantage of a Winter Sim deal for £12 25GB. But the same deal is £17 with an existing sim on my account. I appreciate I could cancel my current sim and then switch number to this new sim. But can I ask if EE would just switch it across as a loyal customer. Otherwise it may be worth me looking at some other network. Don't seem to understand as I'm out of contract they don't make all deals much more flexible for customer retention.

That offer is only available for adding additional SIMs on to an account. Is it just your one SIM on the account or is it another SIM you're looking to upgrade?
For context it is a £24 SIM discounted by the £12 Multi-Line Discount. So even if what you are talking about doing could be done (its not quite as simple as switching a number between two EE SIMs), it would revert to £24 if when there only the one number on the account.
If you're thinking of switching and not happy with the offers you've been getting, call EE on 150 and go through as if you want to leave and see if the Retentions department can offer you something you're happy with.
