I have just moved from BT mobile to EE and got a new handset at same time.  EE have given a new number to my new handset. What do I do to transfer my old number please?  PAC code? Or do I swap my SIM from old phone to new phone?

@Bolt12  you need to get your PAC code from BT, then give that to EE.

You can read all about it on the following Help page,

That’s strange.  The online chat person told me it will be automatically done on 8 August when I contacted them a few mins ago.

Have I been given duff info?

Did you give a PAC code when you signed up? Or at any time?

What did you ask Chat and what did they say?

So,I moved from BT mobile to EE and also got a new handset. The chap on Friday said he would do it all for me but the conversation got horribly complicated.

He kept having to issue different PAC codes but I am sure he said I didn’t need to do anything but clearly I do.  I have tried one PAC code but it doesn’t work and the online chap person said it’s going to happen automatically on 8 Aug so now I am really confused. I am on holiday at present so I suspect it might be better to wait until I return home.

might be best to call 150 and generate a new PAC code.

Well at least you don't have long to wait.

I assume you have the BT sim in one of the phones? When the phone with the BT sim in it stops working, your number should be working on the EE sim shortly after.

Yes, we have the old BT sim in the old BT phone.  Worst nightmare is they cut both numbers off!  It’s my son’s phone under my account so it will be him having his right arm cut off if that happens.

Hi @Bolt12

Welcome to the community. 🙂

Your old SIM shouldn't get cut off until the number ports to your new SIM. Make sure your son has both phones with him on the port day, as sometimes you'll be able to make calls from on phone and receive them on the other. If this happens, it shouldn't be for too long.

Number ports do not go through over the weekend, so it sounds completely right that the number will port tomorrow. It can take up until midnight of the port day to go through.

Let us know if there are any problems.

So I think we have got ourselves in a muddle here! The port should have happened today. Note you say up to midnight. Which SIM should we have in the new phone? The SIM that came with the new phone or the old SIM from

the old phone?
