What nonsense is this?
My phone died, so I want to swap my eSIM to a spare device. But to do that, I need a code. Which is sent to - my eSIM. Which I can't activate. Because I need that code. Phoned 150. The only option? Go to an EE store, get a new physical SIM. Use that to generate a new eSIM?!
What absolute backwardness?!
Even after verifying my ID, the tech support (which is a term I apply begrudgingly to the idiot I spoke to) still can't bypass the requirement for the code?

I had exactly the same issue - see my thread here : https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/SIM-cards-Porting/Installing-an-eSIM-when-you-can-t-link-new-number-to...
I ended up phoning customer support, who were able to associate my new number with my online EE account. Once that was in place, I was able to log in to my EE account on my phone and download the eSIM from the download link provided.

@Sander_Koop They can activate the eSIM from on their side if needs be.
This is one of the big problems with eSIM.
