When your old number was disconnected, it ceased being your number and will now someway through the process of quarantine & ultimately recycling for re-issue - there isn't an endless supply of new numbers.
Most websites & secure services should have alternate means to prove your identity, and ultimately change the mobile number you have registered with them.
