Sim not working in sons iphone.

My son had an iPhone 7 then switched to an iPhone X. The problem has happened with both phones.. one minute the sim is registered the next it says no sim. If he restarts the phone it'll register again for a little while but then it'll appear no sim again after a while and this keeps happening.. not sure if its the sim or not as it has happened with both phones, but the same happened with the previous EE sim he had in his iPhone 7, this sim was actually a replacement one because of this but has now started doing the same thing.

@ZoeA89   It’s the SIM card at fault as the device isn’t registering the sim in the device, you need a replacement sim.   But try giving the sim a clean with a damp cloth. Make sure it’s dry before you put it back in the device.
