Hi does anyone here applied a sim card plan thru EE via 150 as a call? I am just wondering if the same thing happened to you as for me. They asked me my bank details(including security codes) does this happen?
The agent said, type it thru my keypad as it will not appear on her end as numbers but asterisks to protect it . Does it? Really.? I am just confused as i called the right number, 150 and that is their customer service line isn't it?

@Jp300324 : 150 is EE only when you are calling from an EE phone. Were you?
When applying for a contract you will be asked for your bank/card details. How else are you gonna pay for it?

I'm not sure what you mean by "applied a SIM card plan thru EE" but would presume you mean "applying for a SIM-only account" via EE telesales.
If so, then it would be perfectly normal for an agent to ask for your payment details as part of the process, and it's no more dangerous than giving your payment details to any other company or organisation over the phone.

Yes. I called 150 from my EE sim card.
I was just wondering because even the 3 digit security number of the card was asked for as well.she said it's for the credit checks

Most retailers request the 3-digit CVV of a card when buying stuff online or by phone.

@bristolian yeah. I did spoke to an EE agent via that 150 hotline.
It's just that she also asked for the 3 digit sec number of.my bankcard. She said it is needed for the credit checks.
