Same number on PAYG

I am planning to move abroad to Aus but I do not want to lose my UK number.

1. Is it possible to keep my sim only contract going at the current rate even if it may not be frequently used?

2. Is it possible to move my sim only contract with EE onto a PAYG contract with EE? This will obviously be cheaper than paying my current rate so is preferable.

Either!

  1. Yes, as long as you keep paying for it monthly even if you don't use. OR
  2. Yes. Before you move abroad cancel your contract by giving 30-days notice & ask for it to be moved to PAYG. While still in UK after the 30-days notice when it will be moved to PAYG make a chargeable call or text so that it may be used abroad.
