I am planning to move abroad to Aus but I do not want to lose my UK number.
1. Is it possible to keep my sim only contract going at the current rate even if it may not be frequently used?
2. Is it possible to move my sim only contract with EE onto a PAYG contract with EE? This will obviously be cheaper than paying my current rate so is preferable.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

@isabella315 If going to PAYG make sure you do a chargeable action every 2 months to keep the sim active. Also I think you probably don’t want PAYG packs you want a traditional style PAYG. Ie the credit is for calls/text only as packs only last 30 days and you then need to purchase a new pack. (you might want that though )
If you do go PAYG once the sim has changed to a PAYG just text stop pack 150 and it’ll then be a traditional PAYG.
