SIM not working in new handset

Bought a new iphone 15 and swapped the sim over from my old 12 but it's not connecting. I can see in settings that it knows it is an EE sim but the signal strength icon in the top right is just a row of faded-out dots - any ideas what I need to do ??

Is your SIM on the iPhone 12 still active? If so you may need to activate your new SIM.
You can do this online at Activate Your SIM page

thanks for replies, the sim was wiped somehow during transfer so I had to go into an EE shop and get a new one.

- E-sim not downloading in SIM cards & Porting
- Still waiting for replacement SIM – can't access number or request PAC in SIM cards & Porting
- nothing seems to work in Mobile Services
- eSIM transfer not supported, eSIM not activated in SIM cards & Porting
- Nobody can hear me on a phone call in Mobile Network discussions
